Balabala is a term which refers to a traditional bark shade structure. They have evolved to feature a canvas tarp shade, wooden and steel poles and steel mesh screening. The buildings have no solid walls­ to ensure they’ve got maximum airflow. There are lights, ceiling fans, a composting loo and shower, as well as a small kitchen with a gas stove. The balabala’s are fully furnished, including all white-goods and WiFi.
